Entries and Journals

This chapter describes what Journals and Entries does the app create and use.

Activity Entries

Activity entries are used to record actions that users perform on the terminal.

For every operation with the terminal, activity entries are created that can be displayed and possibly edited in this overview.

Activity entries are generated:

  • By logging in to the terminal
  • By logging out from the terminal
  • By starting an operation
  • By ending an operation

When an operation is ended by a user, these activity entries are automatically accounted for and Work Registration Entries are created from them.

If there is an issue with an entry, it is not accounted for, and the error is described in the Error Text field at the end of the activity entry line.

Activity entries can also be edited using the Edit List on the main panel. This can be useful, for example, if a certain activity entry is stuck in an error message and you need to edit or delete just one detailed item that is problematic.

The page is divided into two parts - the upper part is universal, where all user activities are recorded, and the lower part, where detailed items for recording terminal production output are located.

General Activity Entries

Field description:

  • Item Number - Sequential number of the item.
  • Accounting Date and Time - Date and time when the Activity Entry was created.
  • Employee Number - Number of the employee who created the item. Taken from the standard Employees table.
  • Full Name of Employee - Name and surname from the standard Employees table who created the item.
  • Action Type - Determines exactly what the user did on the terminal. It can take values:
  • Login - login to the terminal
  • Logout - logout from the terminal
  • Start - marks when the user began the operation
  • End - when the user ended the ongoing operation. Only this type can have Detailed Activity Items.
  • Active - if checked, then there is only an Activity Entry of type start, and there is no corresponding entry of type End.
  • Linked with item number - determines the paired item - for pairs Login/Logout, Start/End.
  • Activity Barcode - Barcode of the specific activity. For logins and logouts from machines, it refers to the machine center's barcode, for start and end of operations, it refers to the activity barcode.
  • Document Type - Since this Activity Items table is shared with the WR-Work application, this field distinguishes whether it is a document type Production (for WR-Production application) or Work (for WR-Work).
  • Document Number - Specifies the number of the production order on which the operation was performed.
  • Document Line Number - Specifies the line number of the production order on which the operation was performed.
  • Operation Number - Specifies the operation number of the production order on which the operation was performed.
  • Item Number - Specifies which item was processed on the operation.
  • Item Description - Specifies the description of the item that was processed on the operation.
  • Work Center Group Code
  • Center Number - Number of the work center where the operation was performed.
  • To be Accounted - When unchecked, this item is waiting for processing (accounting).
  • Accounted - Already accounted item.
  • Error - This item cannot be accounted for because it is somehow defective.
  • Error Text - Describes how the item is defective.

Detailed Activity Items

This section displays the detailed items that were created at the End of the operation. Items of type Output and Consumption are created, with values according to fields.

Work Registration Entries

After accounting for the Work Registration Journals on Prod. Order (which is automatically filled according to the Activity Entries), Work Registration Entries are created. These entries then serve as the basis for evaluating the time consumed on individual operations.

If one operation is conducted over midnight, it is split into two items - one with a duration until 23:59:59 of the first day, and another starting from 00:00:00 of the following day.

Net Time of Work

This time is used if the user works on several operations simultaneously. In such cases, his total time is divided among the number of concurrently running operations. For instance, if he works for one hour on three operations simultaneously, his net time is 20 minutes. This net time is then used for evaluation and for accounting time, if the field is set to accounting According to real-time in Work Registration Setup.

Cancellation of Items

Using the "Cancel Item" button, you can also cancel items, which will create an opposite negative entry, effectively canceling it.

Alternatively, you can use "Cancel Item with Adjustment," which will open the Work Entry Journal for Production Order (see the section below), where you can adjust the details for cancellation.

Work Entry Journal for Production Order

This journal is filled and posted automatically when posting Activity Entries.

It can be used to manually add data in cases where there is a need to create a large number of Work Entries in the system or to cancel incorrectly posted items.

Registers

The Work Registration register is analogous to standard registers - thus displaying which items were created by which user during which event.
