Basic controls¶
Main screen¶
After installation and setup of the NVR Warehouse mobile application, you can work with the mobile client. It can be launched as a web link with the phone parameter (…/BC/phone?Tenant…) or downloaded as the Dynamics 365 Business Central application to a smartphone.
After launching the application, the home page is displayed with tiles representing the individual functions. Clicking the tile starts the relevant function.
Location change¶
The function changes the location in which the MT Reader is being used.
Available locations are set in Warehouse Employees table. If there are no locations set, the Mobile Terminal shows all locations available in the BC.
The MT Reader location is saved to the Mobile User Setup table, field Mobile Default Location.
After starting the function, a list of available locations is displayed. Select the desired location.
How to use a simple function¶
When working with the function, follow the instructions displayed in the Mobile Terminal. Functions that work with documents are described in more detail in the next chapter.
Step-by-step example: Move¶
To demonstrate how a simple function works, we will go through the process of moving goods between bins using a reader.
1. Start the Move function.
2. After opening the function, enter the code of the item you want to move. The code can be entered by:
a. scanning a bar code,
b. manually typed in,
c. choosing from a list in the reader.
After entering the code, confirm with .
3. Next select a source bin. The bin can be selected by:
a. scanning a bar code,
b. manually typing in the code,
c. choosing from a list in the reader.
4. Enter the amount you want to move and confirm . You can also use [+] and [-] buttons to adjust the amount by 1.
5. The destination bin is selected in a similar way as in point 2).
6. Confirm to perform the move.
Working with the document function¶
For functions that work with documents, a list of document is displayed when the function is started. E.g. the Receive function displays a list of all Purchase orders for a given location.
You can start working with the required document in the following ways:
a) By reading the barcode of the document with a reader.
b) By manually entering the document code.
c) By selecting from the list.
After selecting the required document, you proceed to process individual lines of that document.
The work on the document is completed using the button Finish in menu .
Document line processing¶
1. To start processing individual lines of the document, you can either:
a) Read the line code with the reader (e.g. item number code, cross-reference number, batch number or serial number).
b) Manually enter the document line code.
c) Hold your finger on the line to bring up the menu and select the appropriate action.
d) Click on the line to open its detail, select the menu icon (three dots), and select the appropriate action.
2. Depending on the type of document being processed, the user enters the tracking number, bin code, or unit type after processing the line. It then enters the quantity to be processed.
3. Successfully processed document lines line up at the end of the list and are marked with a Processed flag.
4. You can view the quantity and tracking of already loaded items using the Show Tracking function. This can be invoked by pressing and holding your finger on the line and selecting the Show Tracking action. This makes it easy to see which tracking has already been loaded.
5. If you want to cancel already loaded items (for example due to an error), you can delete the tracking lines. To do that, hold your finger on the tracking line you want to cancel and then press Delete.
6. After you delete the tracking lines, the Processed flags on the document lines are removed, and the lines can be loaded again.
7. After all lines of the document have been loaded, the entire document can be Finished.
Step-by-step example: Receive¶
In the following example, let's go through the whole receipt process together with a demonstration of working with the document and its lines.
Note: the displayed procedure may differ slightly depending on the Mobile Terminal Settings.
1. Start the Receive function.
2. When started, a list of documents is displayed. In our example, it's a list of purchase orders directed to the location that is set in the Mobile Terminal.
Select the purchase order you want to process. You can use one of the three ways described above, i.e. by loading the barcode with a reader, manually typing in or selecting from a list.
3. After selecting the required document, a list of document lines is displayed. In our example, a list of goods to be received in the selected purchase order is displayed.
The line you want to start processing can be selected in four different ways described above - i.e. by loading the code with a reader, filling the code in manually, using a long press finger gesture or via the menu in the line detail.
In our example, we will use method c), a long finger hold gesture on the line.
4. In this example, we receive the goods tracked by lot numbers, so fill in the required Lot number, Batch Number, and the quantity received.
If we enter a quantity smaller than is in the document, the receipt window will appear repeatedly. This is usefull when you want to split the delivery into several different Lot numbers. You can end the loop by clicking the cross key or the Last Entry checkbox.
After entering the quantity, confirm by pressing .
5. After processing one line of the document (in our example, item Z00320) we return to the list of document lines. Processed rows are sorted at the end, they are marked with the Processed flag and their remaining the quantity is zero.
6. In a similar way, we process the next line on the document, item Z00310. Because the items are tracked by serial numbers, we load and assign serial number of each received piece separately.
7. Now let's try to correct the already loaded item line. Let's say we entered the wrong serial number by mistake. We make the correction by displaying the loaded tracking, deleting the erroneous ones and then reloading the goods by the process described in point 3. You can display the list of loaded tracking by holding your finger on the line and selecting Show tracking.
8. We will see a list of downloaded tracking. In our example, displays two serial numbers - one for each piece received. Let's say we entered the serial number SN0002 by mistake and want to change it to SN0003.
In order to fix this error, we must first remove the tracking you've already entered. You can do this by holding down your finger on the line and selecting Delete.
9. After confirming the deletion, the line with serial number SN0002 disappears from the watch list. Use the button to get back to the list of purchase order lines. We see that the product Z00310 is no longer marked as Processed and there is 1 PCS left.
10.The line can now be reloaded and the corrected serial number entered, in our example SN0003.
11. The entire document can now be completed. This is done by pressing the menu button (three dots) in the document and selecting Complete.
