Deactivating a License Key¶
If you no longer need a license key (for example, when moving to a different environment or when you stop using an application), you can deactivate it.
Deactivation Process¶
1. Open the Navertica Licensing Page¶
Search for Navertica Licensing in Business Central using the search function (Alt+Q).
2. Select the Subscription to Deactivate¶
In the Active Subscriptions section, find the subscription with the active license key you want to deactivate.

3. Click the Deactivate License Key Action¶
Click the Deactivate License Key action in the Active Subscriptions action panel.
4. Confirm Deactivation¶
A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm that you want to deactivate the key.
5. Result¶
After deactivation:
- The license key will be marked as inactive
- Features tied to this license will become unavailable
- The subscription will show Activated = No
Important Information¶
Deactivation vs. Cancellation
Deactivating a key disconnects the license from the current environment but does not cancel the subscription. To cancel the subscription (stop payments), use subscription management.
Reactivation
After deactivating a key, you can reactivate the same key through the activation process if the subscription is still active.
When to Deactivate a Key¶
- Moving to a different environment – deactivate the key in the old environment and activate it in the new one
- Moving to a different company – for Company-scoped licenses, deactivate and reactivate in the target company
- Stopping usage – if you no longer use the application (remember to also cancel the subscription)
Automatic Deactivation¶
In some cases, licenses are deactivated automatically:
- Environment copy to production – when an environment is copied to a production environment, all existing keys are automatically deactivated
- Environment copy to sandbox – licenses are automatically switched to sandbox mode (they do not affect production)
