User

The Mobile Terminal user must be a Business Central user with an Unlimited user license and assigned rights corresponding to the processes he performs. For example, if he works with purchase orders, the administrator must assign him rights to work with purchase orders.

New permission sets are created for working with Navertica Handling Units:

  • NVR HANDLING UNITS - A set that must be assigned to an employee working with a mobile client.

  • NVR HANDL. UNITS ADM - A set that must be assigned by an administrator managing mobile users and mobile client settings.

Location card

You can select the Do not allow handling units checkbox on the Location tab.

The setting allows you to disble handling units at a specific location. That means that upon receipt of goods at this location, the information about HU expires and during movements it is not necessary to enter information about HU. It is used, for example, in production, when the goods are moved in pallets to production, in which it no longer matters from which pallet the goods are taken. If the goods are not processed completely and are returned to the warehouse monitored by HU, the goods need to be re-palletized.

Handling Unit Types

Setting the types of handling units allows you to set the basic behavior of HU. You than assign the items into HU types on the Item card.

Available settings:

  • Code - unique identifier of HU type.

  • Description - basic description of HU type.

  • Homogeneous Item - determines whether it is possible to insert more than one item card into one HU. If the box is checked, it is not possible to combine items.

  • Homogeneous Lot - determines whether it is possible to insert more Lots into one HU, or whether it must contain only one. If the box is checked, it is possible to insert just one Lot.

  • Homogeneous Expiration - determines whether it is possible to insert goods with different expiration dates into one HU. If the box is checked, it is possible to insert goods with only one expiration date.

  • Disable Unit After Shipment - determines whether the HU will be closed after all goods have been taken out and it will not be possible to use it further (i.e. it will not be possible to insert new goods into it).

  • Handling Unit Nos. - a separate number series can be defined for each type of HU. It is used for creating HU in combination with the setting on the item, or by manual selection of the HU type.

  • Default Status - defines the status of HU after its creation.

  • Units for Picking - determines whether these HU are used in picking from storage. These HUs are offered for selection when picking even though they store different types of items. I.e., items with another HU type can be stored in this HU for picking for delivery. This is, for example, a pallet on which the goods are prepared before the goods are delivered to the customer.

  • Pick Whole Unit - In the picking processes, the entire unit will always be moved to the shipping bin and it must be moved back to the warehouse positions after delivery. If not checked, it is possible to store the goods in HU for removal from storage.

Items card

On the items card, you can select the type of handling unit in which the items will be placed. The information is then also used for creating new HU with this type of item.
