Handling Units List

The Handling units list contains an overview of all existing handling units.

Use this list to view or edit existing HUs, create new HUs, and more.

Handling Unit Card

The handling unit card provides all information about the handling unit, its description and parameters.

Fields on the Handling Units Tab

Information on the Handling Units tab:

  • Type Code - the information is copied when creating a new HU. The type determines the basic properties of the unit, e.g. the homogeneity of the items (see section Type of Unit in Setup)

  • No. - unique identifier, created when creating a new HU.

  • Description - basic information about HU. It is filled in automatically when renaming HU to a new one.

  • Blocked - indicator if HU is blocked. If so, it is not possible to continue working with HU.

  • Location Code - information on which location is the HU located

  • Bin Code - information on which bin HU is located.

  • Quantity - the sum of the quantities of all items that are placed in the HU. If the items in HU are not homogenous, the quantity is calculated from various Units of measure. Quantity information is read from the items of the handling units (see description below).

  • Created By - ID of user who created this HU.

  • Creation Datetime - date field with information when the HU was created.

  • Comment - indicator whether a note is attached to this HU (function available on the toolbar).

  • Status - information on the status of the HU. Possible values ​​are:

    • Released

    • No input check

    • No output check

    • Suspended

  • Previous Status - if there is a change of status, the status before the change is entered in this field.

  • Last Status Change - a date field with information on when the last status change was made.

  • Status Changed By - Information about the ID of the user who changed the status.

  • Test Quality - information on the quality status of the HU. Possible values ​​are:

    • Good

    • Average

    • Bad

Actions on the HU card

It is used for physical identification of HU. The label also includes a barcode for possible work with barcode readers.

Entries

Each time you move HU or items in HU (move, insert), Handling unit entries are created. Based on these entries, you can see the history of HU and the items stored in it.

Content

calculated from HU entries and shows the current status of items in HU.

Assigned documents

Information on which documents the HU is assigned to. For example, if you receive items from Purchase order where you insert items into HU, but you don't finish the receipt yet, neither HU entries nor HU content are created, but connection to assigned document is.

Handling Units Journal

The Handling Units Journal is intended for basic operations with handling units.

Depending on the type of item, it allows the following operations:

  • Insert Item - used to introduce Handling units into the system. If the application is installed in BC, HU tracking is set on the items and HUs are allowed on location, you can use this function to insert existing items into HUs.

  • Move Item - it is used to separate items from one HU to another HU.

  • Transfer - allows you to move the entire handling unit to a new bin, or to a new location and bin. The move is also possible at a location where HU monitoring is not allowed. Moving is not allowed on a location that has the Directed Put-away and pick flag checked.

  • Relabel - allows to rename HU to a new code. Original unit expires (negative items are created for outstanding items on the original unit) and the items are transferred to the new unit (positive items for outstanding items are created here). The original HU has information in the description to which new HU code it have been relabeled.

  • Merge - Allows you to merge two HU into one. The new HU is the target HU, i.e. the merging of handling units A and B will result in a merging into unit B.
